Measurements, Material and Condition The limestone slab is 194 cm long, 49 cm wide and 20 cm thick. The upper narrow side is convex, but due to damage it appears uneven. The original hewn surface of this narrow side appears to have been smooth. A chamfered edge cannot be clearly discerned. The upper broad side was hewn flat but is heavily worn from being used as an outdoor threshold step so there is little trace of decoration. The left short end is smoothly hewn at a slightly oblique angle. The right short end is heavily damaged with the upper right corner broken off and there are no traces of the original hewing.

Description of Ornament and Images Faint traces of thinly incised (<0.5 cm) grooves can be detected on the 3D model of the stone. Two grooves (1.5 cm apart) are located on the upper right of the stone, running parallel to the upper edge at a distance of approximately 2 cm. On the left upper edge of the stone three lines are visible and appear to branch off at the upper left corner. Two parallel lines continuing straight towards the left end of the stone, where they are no longer discernable, and then at least one of these lines turns and runs down the left side of the stone. Another two lines first curve slightly downward from the upper edge and then turn at a sharp angle to continue down the left side short side. The result is at least three lines on the left side of the stone. The three lines on the left side of the stone run parallel to each other but are crookedly carved and unevenly spaced, thus the distance between them varies between 1.5 to 2.5 cm. At least one of these lines may turn inwards at the bottom left, to continue across the bottom half of the stone towards the right side.
Lamm notes in his list of picture stones that Lärbro Uppegårds (Nr. 382) probably has figures. Inside the frame of incised lines there are traces of curved and straight lines towards the far left and right sides where there is less wear on the stone, but

Interpretation of the Imagery No interpretation
Type and Dating Lärbro Uppegårds is included in Jan Peder Lamm’s list of picture stones in which it is designated as an ‘early’ (tidig) stone which correlates chronologically with the erected stones of Lindqvist’s ‘Abschnitt’ A that date to circa AD 400–600 (Lindqvist 1941/42 I, p. 22–39, 108–115; Lamm/Nylén 2003, p. 201; see also see also Oehrl 2019a, pp. 8–10). It is difficult to correlate the shape of the stone with any of the known Type A tall picture stones. The left oblique edge does not fit with either an upper or lower corner of a tall picture stone. The long, narrow shape of the stone and the one long convex side prompts comparisons with the kerbstones included within Lindqvist’s Abschnitt’ A, however, the framing around the stone and possible figural elements are not characteristic of the ornamentation found on the kerbstones. It is possible that the original shape of the stone is obscured by secondary hewing.
